History of Ratliff Industries
Ratliff Industries started as a backyard business and grew into a corporation. Ratliff Industries started in the backyards of the Ratliff family and with high customer demand, and a growing need for fabricated steel, the business grew and multiplied to the successful corporation it is today! Ratliff Industries was incorporated in January of 1988 as a steel fabricator. Since then, it has been active in structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication for industrial, commercial, and petrochemical customers, providing a quality product in a timely manner. It has steadily grown throughout the years and continues to satisfy customer needs, grow and expand in expertise and industry knowledge, and take on larger projects in the area.

Some Key Employees
Co-founder, Head of Production, Corporate President
Mike Ratliff is a co-founder of Ratliff Industries and grew up in a family of fabricators. Mike’s father, uncles, and older brother were all fabricators and, with his knack for building and working with his hands, Mike quickly learned how to fabricate. He has been working in the fabrication business full-time since 1974 and helped to establish Ratliff Industries in 1988. Mike helped to establish Ratliff Industries with the idea to make Ratliff Industries into a competitive fabricator that takes pride in quality, safety, productivity, and providing cost effective products to customers and this idea is still emphasized today. Mike enjoys working with family and friends to fabricate steel for a variety of jobs and feels blessed that he has the opportunity to collaborate with such knowledgeable people. Mike has been happily married to his wife Donna since 1975 and they now have 4 children and 6 grand-children. Mike enjoys spending time with his family and travelling in their spare time. On the weekends, Mike enjoys tinkering with old cars and machines and getting his hands dirty.
Head of Sales and Estimating/ Corporate Secretary
Van Ratliff has been in the fabrication business since August of 1964 and has experience both in the shop, and in the office. He is a co-founder of Ratliff Industries, and works hard to keep Ratliff Industries ahead of the competition. He helped to start Ratliff Industries in January of 1988; it started as a backyard, small-scale, family owned fabrication shop, and has grown and incorporated into the successful business it is today.
David Jannise has worked for Ratliff Industries for 15 years, as an estimator for 11 years, and has been in the steel industry since 1979. He has valuable experience working in the steel industry and strives to provide quality service and customer satisfaction. When he is not working, Mr. Jannise attends Christian Fellowship Church in Beaumont, helps out with the Sour Lake Lions club, spends time with family, and plays golf. Mr. Jannise is married to his beautiful wife Lelia, has 2 children, and has 4 step-children.
Shop Foreman, Fabrication Quality Control Supervisor, and Project Coordinator
Mike has worked with Ratliff Industries for 11 years and has been in the steel industry for over 15 years. Mike works as the shop foreman, fabrication quality control supervisor, and project coordinator. Mike inspects all aspects of the steel from fabrication to welding, making sure it meets AWS code. He also coordinates all projects from start to finish, insuring they meet deadlines. Mike Bass enjoys spending quality time with his wife of 8 years, fishing in tournaments at Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn, and hunting.
Tommy (T-Tom) Harrison
Shipping/Weld Quality Control Supervisor
T-Tom has worked with Ratliff Industries for over 10 years and has been in the steel industry for over 16 years. He works in the shop as a welding, shipping, and quality control supervisor. He works makes sure welds are up to AWS standard and are of the highest quality before shipment. T-Tom enjoys fishing, hunting, and, most importantly, spending time with his wife of 17 years, Christina Harrison.
Secretary, Financial Controller, and Office Manager
Debbie has worked with Ratliff Industries for three years and has worked as an office manager for over 30 years. Debbie submits bids, assesses orders, prints and organizes each job, orders the steel to be fabricated, balances the financial accounts, and assures that everything is flowing smoothly around the office. In her spare time, Debbie enjoys spending time with her husband Ricky, her three cats and two dogs, and her family. Debbie also enjoys barbequing, going to the beach, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Transportation manager, Purchasing, Customer Service team member
Bill Dyson has worked with Ratliff Industries for 9 years and has been a transportation specialist for over 30 years. He makes steel purchases, maintains the Ratliff fleet of trucks, transports material to and from customers, and ensures that the products are delivered promptly and safely. He is responsible for customer relations and makes sure that each customer is satisfied with each order. Bill enjoys spending time with his family and kids and relaxing on the weekends with his two dogs.
Jimmy McClelland has worked with Ratliff Industries for over 13 years and has been in the steel industry for 18 years. Jimmy reviews design drawings, evaluates prices for each job, and works directly with customers to ensure that each customer gets the correct product and that they are satisfied with their overall experience. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoys spending time with his son, watching NASCAR or NHRA, and watching his favorite sports teams.
